Security Features of Indian Rupee Notes
Indian Currency notes are having heavy security features which are hard to replicate. Thus, you can easily identify the fake notes if you are aware of the following basic security features.
The following are the important security features in the Indian Rupee Notes.
- Security Thread
- Mahatma Gandhi Portrait and Watermark
- See Through Register
- Latent Image

Security Thread
The security thread is present on the right side of the Mahatma Gandhi Portrait. And it changes colour from Blue to Green when tilted from Left to Right.

The Windowed security thread has RBI written in Both English and Hindi on it.
Mahatma Gandhi Portrait
There is a Portrait of Mahatma Gandhi in the middle of the note on the front sid of the Note. There is also a micro letter India on the Portrait.

See Through Register
The denomination numeral is placed on the bottom left side of the note. The Denomination Numeral is a See through register.

Latent Image
The latent image of the denomination in numerals is provided in the bottom left corner. At normal Angle the numeral is not visible but if the note is held horizontally the numeral is visible.

Intaglio or Raised Printing
The images of Mahatma Gandhi Portrait, Ashoka Pillar Emblem and Bleed Lined which are Intaglio or Raised Printing for easy identification.

Image of Indian Heritage Site
On the Reverse side of the note there is an image of a Heritage site which differs for different note.

- The Numerical are written in Devanagiri Script.
- The logo of Swachh Bharat on the back side of the Note.
- The Florescent ink is used for printing which is visible in Ultraviolet light.
